Thank you for your interest in the Shoseian Teahouse and Friendship Garden! Located in Glendale’s Brand Park, the Shoseian Teahouse & Friendship Garden is a beautiful, cultural experience. As a volunteer-based organization, the Friends of Shoseian are working to bring family-friendly, cultural events to this traditional space. Below is some basic information that may address your inquiry:

The Shoseian Teahouse is open on the third Sunday of select months throughout the year, when our non-profit, the Friends of Shoseian, hosts exciting cultural events for the community. Check out our events calendar for upcoming gatherings inside the Teahouse and the Garden!
Please note that the teahouse is not open outside of our public programming and it is not available for private reservation.

The Friendship Garden is open to the public Monday-Thursday from 10am-3pm. For outdoor wedding, events, photography or filming requests in the Friendship Garden, please contact the City of Glendale Parks & Recreation Department at 818-548-2184. For professional filming requests inside the Teahouse, please contact us at the email below.
