Mission
The Friends of Shoseian, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, was founded to maintain and preserve the beauty and serenity of the Shoseian Teahouse and the Japanese Friendship Garden for future generations to enjoy. Our mission is to promote the Teahouse and Garden through various events, ceremonies and classes connected to Asian arts and culture.
Goals

All of the events at the Shoseian Teahouse are family-friendly and open to the community.
02. SHARE JAPANESE CULTURE

Rooted in the richest of traditions of Japan, the Friends of Shoseian strives to host a diverse array of cultural ceremonies, lectures, hands-on activities, demonstrations and festivals celebrating Japan’s art and history.
03. MAINTAIN AN HISTORIC TEAHOUSE

Funds raised are used largely for renovations and building maintenance of the Shoseian Teahouse and its cultural artifacts.
04. HAVE A BOWL OF TEA!

The Shoseian Teahouse was established to host gatherings of tea ceremonies - join us for a bowl of Tea!
